1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small data- or text files that are place by websites and applications on your local computer. The Belgian implementation is derived of the European e-Privacy Directive, which implies that the use of cookies and the cookie regulations are regulated differently in each European Country. MARIE-MARIE is an online-trade platform that predominantly aims its business on the Belgian market and consequently follows the Belgian interpretation of the e-Privacy Directive.

2. What is the use of cookies?

MARIE-MARIE wants to inform you as good as possible about these new regulations and about which cookies we use. By using our website you agree with the use of cookies. Cookies help MARIE-MARIE to optimize your visit to the website, to remember technical choices (for example language choice, a news letter, etcetera), and to offer and show you more relevant services and offers.

  • In Internet Explorer, click on 'Internet options' in the menu 'Extra'.
  • On the tab 'Privacy', switch the settings- button to ‘low’ or ‘accept all cookies' (settings above 'medium' switches cookies off).
  • Click on 'OK'.

For browser - Mozilla Firefox

  • Click on 'Firefox' in the left upper corner of your browser and then click on ‘Options’.
  • On the tab 'Privacy', make sure that the button ‘Let Websites know that I do not want to be followed’ is not switched on.
  • Click on 'OK'.

For browser - Google Chrome

  • Click on 'Extra' on the top of your browser and choose 'Options'.
  • Click on the 'Under the Hood' tab, look for the part of 'Privacy' and select the button 'Content settings'.
  • Now select 'Allow local data to be set'.

For browser - Safari

  • Click ‘Preferences in the task menu. (The task menu is located in the right upper corner in the Safari-window and looks like a gear or click on ‘Safari’ in the extensive task menu.)
  • Click on the tab ‘Privacy’. Look for the section named ‘Cookies and other website data’.
  • Confirm the transaction and wait for the confirmation that all cookies have been switched on.

5. I’m not from Belgium. Is there another requirement in my country for permission?

It is possible that not only Belgian nationals visit the webshop. The European member states often implement the cookie regulation very different in each member state, so that it becomes difficult for the concerned to figure out how his or hers permission can or should be given. MARIE-MARIE aims to uphold correct implementation of the requirements of each member states, to the extent that, this is technically and materially possible.

6. What are my rights?

Because cookies may be a processing of personal data, you have as a data subject the right to a lawful and safe processing of your personal data. As a data subject you can exercise the following rights:

-        Right to resist: in case there is mention of just and serious reasons you can resist against the processing of your personal data.

-        Right of access: every data subject that proves his or hers identity, has a right to access to the information with regard to whether or not processing of their personal data has been or will be processed, also to the purposes of these processing, the categories of data of which these data are related to and the categories of recipients to whom the data are allocated.

-        Right of rectification: Inaccurate or incomplete personal data can on request of the data subject be amended or even deleted.
